CAPEL STREET &

MEETINGHOUSE LANE

DUBLIN 1

Project Architect: ODOS Architects

The proposed plot redevelopment of a large-scale group of diverse buildings ranging in date from the late 17th/ early 18th through to the 21st century into a boutique hotel, restaurant and bar, was granted permission in late 2019.

The building range occupies a hinterland site largely imperceptible from the enclosing network of streets, currently discreetly accessed from three entrances; through/ under a covered alley at No. 133 Capel Street, at No.7 Meetinghouse Lane and at No.23 Little Mary Street.

Molloy&Associates, together with a highly skilled design team, achieved a successful outcome in identifying the significance of the building range, encompassing a late 17th/ early 18th century Meeting House, the remains of earlier buildings and fragments of the ecclesial enclosure of St. Mary’s Abbey.

Conservation repair works were undertaken in 2024 and 2024.
